Snowden a little poorer, NSA a little richer

A federal judge in Virginia has ruled that Edward Snowden may not receive any money from his book, Permanent Record, because he did not clear it first with US authorities, notably the NSA for whom he used to work as a contractor.

Interestingly, the NSA did not object to the publication of the book, but they do want the money, suggesting that this action is not about protecting national secrets so much as getting a measure of revenge.
